The 2003 Creative Style Show brought out the talent of over 15 member shops. The theme was “It’s a Jungle Out There.” Whether that jungle was a literal one, a business, or a wild and crazy one, it was definitely an evening of costume entertainment.
Each participating shop received an identical box of fabric and trims, and surprises. The shops were allowed to spend up to $15 to complete their masterpieces. This 2003 event was sponsored by Alexander Costumes, Riverside CA. They provided all the fabric etc. and paid for the shipping to each shop that was involved.
Deciding what to make was extremely hard. The fabrics and trims were really a “Jungle of textures, colors and everything else.” Most shops came up with a story to describe their creation. My shop created the jungle character above I remember my staff having more fun, making up the story behind the character then my designer and I did creating it. This was my shop’s first attempt entering this wonderful creative event.
