Editor's Note: NCA Immediate Past President Pam Markel has been sharing history articles with
members over the past year, and this one is fitting for Halloween!
The NCA has been blessed with many wonderful presidents since 1923. Each president has brought new ideas, new inspiration and noteworthy thoughts to be remembered.
One such president was J. Thomas (Tom) Scott, of Norcostco Inc. He was known for his progressive outlook on business and most of all his humor.
So appropriately, on Halloween day, I want to share his published thoughts for October 1956.
1st Week in October: “If the door of opportunity does not open to polite knocks…KICK IT IN.”
2nd Week in October: “Nothing is so embarrassing as watching the boss do something you told him he couldn’t do.”
3rd Week in October: “The definition of a Genius is a Man who shoots at something no one else can see and hits it.”
4th Week in October: “When nobody agrees with you, you are terribly brilliant, or the boss.”
HALLOWEEN: “Anyone who can keep a level head in all this confusion doesn’t fully understand the situation.”
Happy Halloween fellow costumers. You are almost there.
