The first ever National Independent Costume Store Day is just two weeks away! Don't let this opportunity pass you by -- here are five things to do right now:
1. Plan some fun events for October 10, such as demonstrations, actor appearances, pumpkin decorating, special discounts, photo opps, etc. You can find more ideas by clicking here to log into the Member Center, then select Resources on the left, then click on the top link, which takes you to the official NICSD marketing kit.
2. Tell us what events you have planned so we can add them to the online list we are developing. Click here to register your events: https://www.costumers.org/nicsd-event-registration
3. Fill out the sample press release the NCA developed for members and send it to your local community newspapers, TV stations, bloggers or any other media that write about your community. The template is in the markeing kit (see number 1 above). Need contacts? Email Ed Avis, executivedirector@costumers.org, because he has access to a database of media contacts.
4. Put the official logo on your home page, and put the Facebook cover photo on your Facebook page. You can download both from the marketing kit in the Member Center (see number 1 above).
5. Put the customized NICSD posters and stickers in your neighborhood so community members know about the day. The posters and stickers were mailed to all members on Tuesday.
Then get ready to have fun!
