Hosiery is an important product line for a lot of costume shops. Even those that focus almost solely on costumes can add a few dollars to each sale by offering hosiery that accompanies those costumes.
If you need to increase your hosiery selection, a good start would be to check out the line from Music Legs, which joined the NCA last month.
“Our products are made in Taiwan, so the quality is better compared to a lot of others,” says Melvin Tock, chief financial officer of Music Legs. “We work very closely with the factories there.”
Among the most popular hosiery in Music Legs’ line are the standard opaque products that can go with everything, as well as fishnet stockings. The company also stocks a line of Halloween-related stockings, such as those with skulls, bats, spider webs and other fun designs.
But Music Legs’ products don’t end with hosiery – the company also offers a broad line of adult women costumes, all in the sexy category. Among the most popular costumes are Chucky and Sexy Nun, two classics that sell well every Halloween.
The company, which is about 25 years old, primarily designs its new products with in-house designers, Tock explains. “Occasionally we’ll buy a design, but most of them are done by Music Legs staff,” he says.
