The Chicago Bears won their playoff game against the Green Bay Packers last week, but Foam Party Hats, an NCA Vendor Member, also won big: They are the creators of the "cheese grater" hats that were seen on TV constantly during the game.
In an article in the Chicago Sun-Times, company founder Manuel Rojas said he's received 8,500 orders for the hats since the game, and he hired four more workers to help with the rush.
Ironically, the company used to make "cheesehead" hats, which are favored by Packers fans. But they stopped when they got a cease-and-desist letter from the Packers. That's what led them to create the cheese grater hats, according to the Sun-Times article.
"Even before this year, [it] was one of our best sellers, especially during the football season," Rojas is quoted as saying in the article. "But it never went viral like [it did] in the last couple of weeks."
Congratulations to Rojas for this success!
