The storms and flooding that have devastated North Carolina have shocked the communities and businesses in that area. NCA member The Costume Shoppe is in Asheville, NC, which has seen horrible flooding. NCA Board Member Anne Dorsey, owner of McCabe's Costumes in Greenville, NC, reached out to Tawnya Watts, owner of The Costume Shoppe, to make sure she is OK. Watts replied:
"Anne, how lovely of you to reach out! Me and my family and the Shoppe are safe, thank goodness. We still have no power or water and the internet is very intermittent so I'm not sure when we'll be able to reopen. I'm only able to respond because we ran out of water and evacuated to family near Hilton Head last night. As an Asheville native, my heart breaks for my community. So much beauty destroyed. Western North Carolina has a long recovery ahead but we're up to it!"
The NCA family wishes Tawnya and her family -- and all people affected by this situation -- the most speedy recovery possible!
