Will they come? That seems to be the question about trick-or-treaters as Halloween 2020 approaches. No one knows the answer…but one candy industry leader is doing all it can to make sure trick-or-treating happens—one way or another!
On August 19, Mars Wrigley announced it will kick off October with Treat Town, an app-based, virtual trick-or-treating event that the company describes as “a new digital experience, community partnership and seasonal portfolio mix to help Americans honor the holiday traditions they love most.”
Halloween fans will be able to create personalized spooky avatars, customized Halloween decorations for their in-app door, and the ability to "knock" on doors of friends and family across the country. Participants will earn candy credits in the app, which they’ll be able to redeem for real Mars Wrigley products through national retail partners, online and/or in-store. Virtual trick-or-treaters can sign up at www.Treat-Town.com.
Is some sort of virtual Halloween something you could offer your customers, too?
