Halloween won’t be the same as usual. But Hershey is confident the Halloween season will still be sweet—and in early July, the company debuted new Halloween candy that confirms that confidence.

In fact, in a recent National Confectioners Association poll about Halloween 2020, 74 percent of Millennial moms said they think Halloween is more
important than ever this year—which is good news for the costume industry!
As a recent story from Candy Industry magazine reported, Hershey Chairman and CEO Michele Buck was optimistic during the company’s recent conference call about second quarter earnings:
“While research indicates trick-or-treating participation will likely be below prior year levels due to COVID-19 concerns, the expectation of this holiday tradition has been consistently improving over the past several weeks,” Buck said. “It is an outdoor event, and it’s an event where a lot of masks are already worn. There’s no evidence of the virus being passed through packaging or food, so we feel pretty good based on what we’re seeing so far from consumer feedback…”
