Dago Gonzalez from Buy4store listened carefully during the NCA panel discussion in early February about what buyers want vendors to know, and something important caught his attention: Buyers appreciate vendors who show them respect. Gonzalez, who leads the Customer Service Department for new NCA Vendor Member Buy4Store.com, says that message resonated with him because Buy4Store.com prides itself in great customer relations.
“We treat our customers as family,” he says. “We make sure we reach out to them, we make sure we always touch base and ask them how things are going. We don’t just sell the product – we make sure everything is fine. If anything needs to be taken care of or any problem needs to be solved, we like to do that.”
Buy4Store.com began its existence in 2008 as a seller of belt buckles in Los Angeles. They still sell belt buckles, but their product line has greatly expanded since then and now includes hats, suspenders, bow ties, bandanas, children’s products and hundreds of other on-trend costume-related goods. They also carry party supplies such as balloons.
Their best-sellers are suspender and bow tie kits and cowboy hats, Gonzalez says.
Direct Importing
An important turning point for the company occurred about 12 years ago when the owner, Metin Kilic, decided to begin importing directly from China.
“Because our ability to import directly from China, we're able to provide the lowest price and lowest minimum,” says Halil Kocabay, manager of the company. “We work with over 15 manufacturers in China.”
Kocabay adds that Buy4Store.com’s relationships with those manufacturers means that they can also create customized products that are not normally part of their inventory. Creating a customized product can take as little as two weeks, he says.
Expanding Business
Buy4Store.com began in downtown Los Angeles, but they outgrew their original location and moved to a 27,000-square-foot warehouse about 10 years ago, Gonzalez says. That space gives them plenty of room to stock their products, all of which are sold to retailers.
