There’s no better place for Halloween lovers to celebrate than Salem, Massachusetts. The town near Boston—famous (or infamous) for the 1692 witch trials—is usually overrun with locals and tourists alike during Halloween season.
But in this hauntingly unusual year, Salem is prepping for a “a drastically pared-down Halloween season” since the state likely will be in Phase 3 of the Covid-19 reopening plan, which limits indoor gatherings to 25 people, and outdoor gatherings to no more than 100.
That doesn’t mean Halloween won’t happen. The city plans to emphasize supporting local businesses, and trick-or-treating is planned to continue as normal, according to a story at boston.com.
